In the meeting which was held in one place in the Idi Rayeuk area, the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission accompanied by a number of staff listened to the complaints submitted by the community who had been victims of the oppression of oil palm plantation companies.
Ahmad Taufan Damanik, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, said that his party was notified by the Community Alliance for Justice (AMMK) to convey problems related to the HGU land of PT. Bumi Flora and PT. Dwi Kencana.
"We went to East Aceh because we were told by AMMK consisting of Keuchik, Tuha Peut Gampong and community leaders who are members of 10 villages in 6 sub-districts, that there are problems related to conflicts between the community and HGU land owned by PT Bumi Flora and PT Dwi Kencana. That's why we went down to meet them to listen directly," he said.
Furthermore, Ahmad Taufan said, his party had listened to their explanations and hopes,
"Because most of the land was owned by residents, which they have managed for quite a long time, residents want their rights to be returned," said Ahmad Taufan.
Ahmad Taufan also said that earlier his party had given directions to complete the materials for us to fight for, then we encourage to meet with the Acting Governor of Aceh.

If we have met with the Governor, we will assist with mediation, including assisting the lobby to Jakarta to convince them that, in addition to most of the land they used to own, they also have an interest in the welfare of the community and also as their living land for farming and gardening.
"We have concluded that first they refused the extension of PT Bumi Flora's HGU permit which will expire in 2024, then the land was handed over to the community in accordance with procedures and laws, the second related to PT Dwi Kencana whose permit is still long, but so far it has notproductive. it is also handed over to the community to be managed for people's livelihoods," concluded Ahmad Taufan.
